General FAQ

These answers apply to all Fox & Vixen experiences. For session-specific details, jump to your section above.

What makes Fox & Vixen different?

Three things set us apart.

  • You're guided every step. From the first consultation through your final artwork, we're right there with you. Posing, expression, styling - we direct it all so you can relax and be present.

  • Your privacy, your choice. Your images are never shared without your explicit permission. Some clients share everything. Some share select images. Some keep everything private. That choice is always yours, and we respect the full spectrum.

  • We create heirlooms, not files. Our focus is artwork for your walls and albums you'll treasure for decades. These aren't photos you scroll past. They're pieces that tell your story.

Where is your studio located?

Our private studio is in the west Pearland area near 288. You'll receive the full address and day-of instructions after booking.

Who will be in the room during my shoot?

Mike will be your photographer. Angi will be alongside you for styling, posing, wardrobe, and anything you need.

You're welcome to bring a supportive friend if it helps you feel comfortable. We prefer not to have significant others in the studio during individual sessions. The exception is couples sessions, where both partners are part of the shoot.

Do you photograph all body types, ages, and genders?

Every body is welcome. We work with women, men, and couples of all sizes, ages, and identities. Our clients range from their mid-20s to their 80s. The only requirement is that you're 18 or older.

The Over 40 & Fabulous Project is specifically for women 40 and over.

Will my photos be shared online?

Never without your permission. You decide what, if anything, we may share.

Clients vary widely in what they're comfortable with. Some release everything for our portfolio and marketing. Some choose a few favorite images. Some keep everything completely private. All three approaches are equally common and equally respected.

The Over 40 & Fabulous project includes a public component. Each participant selects one image for the magazine and the gallery exhibition, and that image must be released for display, including online. The rest of your images can remain fully private if you wish. If you prefer complete privacy, book a standard boudoir or Body of Art session instead.

How do I prepare for my session?

Once you book, we send you personalized preparation guidance tailored to your specific session. You'll get wardrobe suggestions, grooming tips, and exactly what to bring. Simple, clear, and customized to you.

What products can I order?

Fine art wall art and albums for your home. We'll help you choose sizes and finishes that fit your space and tell your story.

How long is my session?

Plan for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours for your photoshoot, with time for outfit changes. Sessions that include professional makeup add about an hour before we start shooting.

This applies to all session types, though we adjust pacing to fit your comfort level and goals.

How long until I see my images?

We schedule your private ordering appointment about two weeks after your session.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Flexible options are available and finalized at your ordering appointment.

What is your rescheduling and cancellation policy?

With proper notice you may reschedule once without penalty. Session fees are non-refundable and may be transferred to a new date.

How far in advance should I book?

Start your consultation as soon as you can. We'll set your session date during that call. For the best selection of dates (especially evenings), book 4 to 6 weeks out.

Need finished products by a specific date? Here's how to plan backward:

  • 8 weeks before your deadline: Session date

  • 6 weeks before: Ordering appointment (2 weeks after session)

  • Your deadline: Products arrive (4 to 6 weeks after ordering)

  • Optional buffer: Schedule your consultation 12 weeks out if you want extra prep time

Note: Products ship once your order is paid in full. We can sometimes rush things, but there's risk your items won't arrive on time.

Do you offer weekend or evening sessions?

Yes. We primarily book evening sessions. Limited weekend dates are released seasonally. If you need a weekend, mention it during your consultation for current availability.

Do you travel for sessions?

Select on-location sessions are available. Travel fees may apply outside Greater Houston.

Do you provide digital files?

Digital files are available with a package purchase, or as digital-only packages. Session fees do not include digital files. Personal-use rights are included with purchased digitals.

What happens during the consultation?

We get to know you, your goals, comfort level, and style. Then we walk you through the experience from start to finish: what the session looks like, how the ordering appointment works, and how to prepare. We answer your questions and set your session date with clear next steps.

What does the ordering appointment look like?

About two weeks after your session, you'll come back to view your images in a private appointment. We'll show you a slideshow of your fully retouched photos, then help you choose your favorites. From there, we'll guide you through selecting wall art, albums, and any digital files you want to take home.

What about professional makeup?

All sessions for women include professional makeup. For men, makeup is available by request.

If you'd prefer to use your own makeup artist, let us know. Have your makeup done before you arrive, and we'll adjust your start time to when makeup would normally finish.

Do you retouch?

Yes. All purchased images include professional retouching. We focus on natural enhancement - polishing the image, removing distractions, and minimizing concerns while preserving natural skin detail and the character of the light.

Boudoir FAQ

Boudoir at Fox & Vixen is about confidence, connection, and images that feel true to you. We offer sessions for women and men, and couples.

Women's Boudoir

What exactly is boudoir photography?

Empowerment portraits that celebrate your beauty and personality. We guide posing, expression, and styling so you feel comfortable and confident.

Do I have to wear lingerie?

Not for every set. Boudoir centers on intimate looks, and most clients choose at least some lingerie alongside other options. We often include implied nude sets covered in just sheets, or even fully nude if you're comfortable.

A robe or cozy sweater can be a beautiful alternative for one set. We can include one styled outfit like jeans or a dress for variety. If you're in Over 40 & Fabulous and need a more conservative set for public use, we'll plan that with you.

I'm nervous about posing. Will you help?

Absolutely. We guide every pose from head to toe - where to put your hands, how to angle your body, even how to breathe. Most clients have never done this before. That's normal, and we've got you.

Will you help me look my best?

Of course. We use flattering light and angles, expert posing, and thoughtful guidance. Professional makeup is included. Final images include light retouching while keeping skin natural looking.

I'm over 40. Should I book Over 40 & Fabulous instead?

If you're 40 or over and want to be part of our annual project with a magazine feature and gallery exhibition, choose Over 40 & Fabulous. If you prefer a private session without the public component, book a standard boudoir session.

How long is the session?

Plan for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours for your photoshoot, plus about an hour for professional makeup.

What does a women's boudoir session cost?

Your $299 session fee reserves your date and covers your guided photoshoot. Artwork and digital files are purchased at your ordering appointment. Album collections include the matching digitals of selected images. Digital-only options are also available.

Men's Boudoir

What is men's boudoir photography?

Intimate, stylized portraiture with sculpted light that defines form and texture. Sessions span lifestyle looks to minimal-wardrobe sets, photographed with clear posing direction for images that feel sensual, confident, and unmistakably boudoir.

Do men really book these sessions?

They do. More than you'd think. Men book for milestone birthdays, after achieving fitness goals, as anniversary gifts, or simply because they want powerful images of themselves at this moment in their life.

What should I wear?

Bring options that fit your style. Well-fitted denim, a crisp tee or button-down, leather jacket, athletic or lifestyle looks, and tailored underwear for more revealing sets. We'll help you build strong looks from what you bring.

I'm worried I'll feel awkward.

That's normal at first. We keep the set calm and focused. You'll get clear direction for posing and expression so you can relax and enjoy the process. We generally keep things pretty light during the shoot. We tend to laugh a lot. Most of our clients enjoy the shoot as an experience all its own, rather than something to "get through" to get the results.

Couples Boudoir

What is a couples boudoir session?

A connection-focused session that celebrates your bond. Elegant, intimate, and guided so both partners feel comfortable. We usually photograph the couple together as well as images of each partner separately.

Do we have to be nude?

No. You dress to your level of comfort. Many couples choose coordinated lingerie or lifestyle looks. We can create images with subtlety or boldness. You choose the tone.

How do you pose two people?

We lead every step so you never wonder what to do. We focus on natural connection, flattering angles, and genuine moments.

One of us is nervous. Is that a problem?

Not at all. We move at a comfortable pace, starting simple and building as confidence grows. You can take breaks at any time. It's common for partners to have different comfort levels, and we adjust the session to honor both.

Do you photograph LGBTQ+ couples?

Yes. All couples are welcome. We photograph a wide range of ages, sizes, and identities with respect and care.

What should we wear?

Bring looks that fit your vibe. Simple basics in complementary tones work well. After booking, you'll get preparation guidance that includes wardrobe suggestions.

Who will be in the room during our shoot?

Over 40 & Fabulous is our portrait project for women 40 and over who want to be seen, celebrated, and confidently documented at this stage of life. Who can participate?

Women age 40 and over. We regularly photograph women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond.

How do I apply?

Complete the application here. Apply to Over 40 & Fabulous

What happens after I apply?

We'll respond (usually within a day) and let you know if you've been accepted. If you have, we'll invite you to schedule a consultation as soon as possible. We'll talk through your goals and comfort level, explain the experience from start to finish, and set your session date.

What is the session fee and what does it include?

The project session fee is $99. It includes professional makeup, your guided photoshoot, and your feature in the magazine and gallery exhibition. Artwork and digital files are chosen and purchased at your ordering appointment.

What should I wear?

We'll plan your wardrobe together to fit your style and comfort. Many clients choose lingerie for some sets, with options like implied coverage using sheets or a robe. Some choose partial or full nudity within their comfort level.

Can my session look like Body of Art?

Yes. If you love sculptural, light-driven images, we can plan your shoot in that style.

Will my photos be shared online?

Each participant selects one image for the magazine and the gallery exhibition, and that image must be released for display, including online. Beyond that required image, you decide what we may share. Some participants release everything. Some release a few images. Some keep everything else private. Also discussed in General FAQ

We can keep the rest of your images fully private if you wish. If you need a more conservative public image, we'll plan that with you.

Do you retouch?

Yes. All purchased images include professional retouching focused on natural enhancement. Also discussed in General FAQ

What does the ordering appointment look like?

About two weeks after your session, you'll come back to view your images in a private appointment. We'll start with a slideshow, then help you mark favorites and narrow to the images you love.

You'll select your project image. We'll print it as a matted 11×14 and feature it in the magazine and the gallery exhibition. Finally, you'll choose how to take your images home: printed artwork (albums and wall art) and any digital files you wish to purchase.

How soon should I book?

Start your consultation as soon as you can. We'll set your session date during the call. Full booking timeline in General FAQ

Can I keep my participation private except for the required image?

Yes. Many participants choose privacy beyond the one required magazine and exhibition image. We'll discuss options for anonymity and conservative posing for that public image if you need it.

What if I've never done anything like this before?

Most participants are new to being photographed this way. We guide every step - posing, expression, and what to do with your hands - so you can relax. The goal is to help you feel confident, seen, and proud of the woman you are today.

Body of Art Fine Art Bodyscapes FAQ

Body of Art is our fine art bodyscape portrait experience that uses sculptural, rim-driven light to trace form and strength, sculpting with shadow and highlight. The emphasis is on line, texture, and form rather than traditional boudoir posing. The results feel bold and elegant. Many clients book to celebrate milestones, fitness journeys, healing, or simply to see themselves as art.

How is Body of Art different from boudoir?

The key differences are visual and emotional.

Visually: Boudoir sessions generally happen in a "set" - a bed, a chair, props - and the whole scene is part of the image. Body of Art focuses on the body itself against a clean black or white background. The light sculpts form and creates drama through shadow and highlight.

Emotionally: Boudoir tends to focus on sensuality and connection. Body of Art is about the body as sculpture, as art, as strength. It's more abstract, more focused on line and form than story or context.

If you love the idea of minimalist, museum-quality images that feel powerful and refined, Body of Art is your answer.

What do I wear? Is this a nude session?

Nudity is optional. Because this style is about the play of light over skin, most clients choose minimal wardrobe.

For women, common choices include a sports bra with small shorts, select lingerie, sheer draping, body jewelry, or tasteful nudity. For men, options include small shorts, underwear, or nude. It's common to mix levels across sets - for example, starting in boxer briefs and finishing nude.

Who is this for?

Women and men who want artwork that feels powerful and refined. Fitness clients celebrating their strength, artists drawn to sculptural images, and anyone who wants to see their body as art book this experience. Couples can inquire if they want a shared, art-forward session.

Do I need to be fit or have a certain body type?

No. Every body creates beautiful form and shadow. This style celebrates line, texture, and presence - not a specific body type. We've photographed bodies of all shapes, sizes, and ages in this style.

How long does the session last?

Plan for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours for your photoshoot, plus about an hour for professional makeup.

Can I stay anonymous in my images?

Yes. We often create a mix of anonymous crops and images that show your face. We can plan for anonymity while preserving the strength and elegance of the work.

How should I prepare?

Once you book, we send you customized preparation guidance that covers wardrobe, skin preparation, and what to bring. Also discussed in General FAQ

Will my photos be shared online?

Never without your permission. Clients vary widely in what they're comfortable sharing. That choice is always yours. Also discussed in General FAQ

Do you retouch?

Yes. Retouching is part of the fine art finish. Like makeup, it polishes the image, removes distractions, highlights your features, and minimizes concerns while preserving natural skin detail and the character of the light. Also discussed in General FAQ

What does the session cost and what's included?

The Body of Art session fee is $499 (introductory pricing is $299 for a limited time). Your session includes a guided photoshoot and a 16×24 mounted wall portrait. You'll choose and purchase any additional artwork and digital files at your ordering appointment. Digital-only packages are available.

What artwork do most clients choose?

Most clients choose heirloom wall art and a fine art album. We'll help you select pieces that fit your space and tell your story. A simple approach that works well: an album to hold the full series, plus wall art to showcase your favorite images.

What happens after the session?

We schedule your private ordering appointment about two weeks later. You'll see your images, choose your included 16×24 mounted portrait, and select any additional artwork or digital files.

How far in advance should I book?
