Celebrating Art and Self-Love: Ms. Paulette’s Journey
A Passion for Empowerment
Before joining the ‘Over 40 and Fabulous’ project, Paulette Johnson was already a champion for women’s empowerment. At 63, she dedicated her career to healthcare, serving as a licensed nurse and manager in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Despite her busy professional life and broad interests in art, law, and holistic medicine, she felt a yearning to embrace her own beauty and sensuality. Paulette shared, “I am an advocate for promoting and inspiring women over 40 to feel beautiful and show their worth and power.” Her drive to celebrate women like herself is palpable, and she was excited to take part in this artful expression.
A Leap of Faith
What inspired Paulette to participate in this project? “I’ve done other art projects in my younger years and wanted to be part of something that celebrates women over 40.” Her enthusiasm speaks volumes about her commitment to showcasing the beauty and strengths of women in this age group. She took a leap of faith because she believed in the mission of the project. With a deep-rooted desire to embrace her artistry and celebrate her life journey, Paulette was ready for an experience that would transform her perspective.
Transformative Moments Behind the Lens
During the photo session, Paulette found herself immersed in the experience. “The best parts of the session were holding the poses and feeling like a piece of art,” she remarked. The experience was not only empowering but also delightful. Paulette was surprised by how invigorating it felt to step into the spotlight and be celebrated. Her newfound confidence shone through, impacting how she interacted with others. “I believe my confidence levels have increased,” she said, reflecting on the positive changes following the session.
